Which is best for you, Digital signage, LCD Monitor and TV?

In the digital signage industry, digital signages, LCD Monitors, and TV all have been used and deployed for commercial advertising purposes.
So what is the difference between them?
Which product is more suitable for commercial advertising purposes?

Digital signage vs TV

Surface:

The LCD glass used in DNR digital signage displays are industrial-grade panels, and tempered glass is usually installed on the surface to protect the LCD glass from damage in complex environments.
Common LCD monitors or TVs are usually consumer-grade panels and are not equipped with tempered glass. Under the challenges of various complex environments, the probability of after-sales problems is high.

Environment:

Common LCD monitors and TVs are usually used in a single environment with a small number of people, such as homes, conference rooms, and offices. The air quality and humidity of this type of environment are relatively friendly.
However, digital signages can be used in more complex environments, such as supermarkets, shopping malls, subways, bus stations, and even outdoor environments.

Materials:

Digital signage displays are made of metal materials to provide a guarantee to protect the product body. More importantly, metal materials that have better heat dissipation, stability, and corrosion resistance can meet the needs of digital signage in different environments and its 24-hours work.
However, ordinary LCD monitors and TVs are usually equipped with plastic casings to save costs, and the products cannot withstand the challenges in a complex working environment.

Operating Time:

Usually, the operating Time of LCD monitors and TVs are designed to be 8-12 hours a day, and overloading can easily cause damage to the equipment.
The operating Time of digital signage is designed to be 7 * 24 hours. To meet its use needs in different scenarios, it also meets the "saturated advertising coverage" needs of advertisers and media marketers.
In addition, the service life of LCD Monitors and TVs is basically 20,000-30,000 hours, while the service life of digital signage displays is 50,000-60,000 hours.

Brightness:

As the digital signage displays are used in a commercial environment, which requires better brightness as there is always lighting in commercial places. Basically, TVs and LCD Monitors are all with 200-300nits, but digital signage displays are with 350nits at least, 450nits/500nits are also standard, for some semi-outdoor digital signage, needs 700nits-1500nits LCD displays, for outdoor signage, needs more than 2000nits LCD panels, which is only possible for digital signage displays.

Other:

Digital signage has different product forms, such as wall-mounted digital signage, vertical digital signage, portable digital signage, Stretched bar LCD display, Shelf edge display, etc. Touch technology is optional on all digital signage products.
However, LCD monitors and TVs are relatively simple in product form, generally not equipped with touch functions, and are mainly desktop and wall-mounted.
